In September 2013 we purchased a small flock of Devon and Cornwall Longwool breeding ewes. This is the only breed to have been in existence for at least 100 years in the West Country and is very likely to have been part of the livestock here on the Heligan Estate during The Great War.
The Devon and Cornwall Longwools are known for their large quantities of wool and will grow more wool per sheep than any other British breed. This large, handsome and bountiful breed also produces lean meat.
